Hot-Cold-Relax

This trusted sequence has been used for millennia.

A few simple steps to relaxation and vitality

A typical cycle lasts between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on your experience and comfort level.

With practice, you’ll notice your tolerance increase as you try different lengths of exposure in each stage.

Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Heat

Prepare and Detoxify

Step 1: Heat – prepare and detoxify

Begin your cycle in a sauna or hot pool for 10-15 minutes. Allow the heat to raise your body temperature, opening your pores and promoting deep sweating.

The heat increases blood circulation and loosens muscles, preparing your body for the cold plunge. Sweating helps detoxify, flushing out impurities and excess fluids.

Step 2: Cold

Refresh and Energize

Step 2: Cold – refresh and energize

Quickly transition to a cold pool plunge or cold bucket douse for 1-5 minutes. The sudden change in temperature will cause an immediate cooling of your body.

This cold shock stimulates your nervous system, reduces inflammation, and increases alertness. It constricts blood vessels, which helps flush out lactic acid and other toxins released during the heat phase.

Step 3: Relax

Rebalance and Recover

Step 3: Relax – rebalance and recover

Rest in one of our quiet, comfortable relaxation spaces for 10-15 minutes. Focus on deep nasal breathing and allow your body to stabilize.

Relaxation allows your heart rate and circulation to normalize, consolidating the benefits of the heat and cold phases. It also promotes mental clarity and a sense of well-being, preparing you for the next cycle.

Step 4: Repeat

Deepen the Benefits

Step 4: Repeat – deepen the benefits

Begin another cycle of heat, cold, and relaxation, repeating the process 2-3 times as desired.

Each cycle enhances the effects on your body and mind, deepening detoxification, improving circulation, and further relieving tension. Repeating the process trains your body to better regulate temperature and stress, building resilience over time.

Step 5: Rise

Reawaken and Rehydrate

Step 5: Rise – reawaken and rehydrate

Conclude your session with a final moment of rest. Slowly return to an active state, and drink plenty of water to rehydrate.

Rising gradually helps you avoid feeling lightheaded as your body temperature normalizes. Hydration restores the fluids lost during sweating, ensuring you leave refreshed, balanced, and energized.

Emerge into your day, into your week, and into yourself with a new dose of energy, vitality and deep sense of calmness.

Perfect for beginners or regular users. This balanced cycle gently stimulates circulation, detoxifies, and relaxes the body.
Designed to deliver a profound sense of calm, this cycle adds a bit more intensity, allowing deeper recovery and tension release.
Shorter and sharper, this cycle is great when you need a quick energy boost. It wakes up your system and sharpens mental focus.
For a deeper meditative experience, this longer cycle helps you reach a theta-like state, ideal for mental clarity and creative flow.
For something completely different, reverse the order of the three main cycle steps and see how you feel. A little different?
